Prices and Models in Danemark

Hello,

I'm french and I'd like to buy a Swift smilie I'm just looking around to see if the price would be more interesing for me in Danemark.
I've looked on www.suzuki.dk but I can't find the model I'd like to buy. Here in France it's called "GLX".
What I actually want is :
- 3 doors
- benzin (not diesel)
- air conditionning
- ABS

In 1.3 or 1.5, don't know if it exists.
Could somebody tell me the exact model name of what I'm looking for ? And maybe you could give me the price (with and without danish taxes) ?

Best regards !

Hi Pim.
The 1.3 GLX was intriduced in DK on january 13th. The GLX isn't on the suzuki.dk website.
It is 5 doors, with airconditioning, abs, alu-rims and lots of other great stuff.
The danish price is approx. 162000 DKK (€21600). Taxex and duties to be paid is approx 2/3 of the prices (anuone feel free to correct me if I am wrong), so without it is approx. 55000 DKK (€7333).

Wigant,

Your information is not far from what i've been told, but the salesman i spoke to today talked about some "avance" (don't know the english word) they put on cars sold without taxes, which means that a 1,3 GLX 5-door (it dosn't come with only 3 doors, not yet anyway) is sold in Denmark (without 180% tax) for approx. 70.000 DKK, which is around 9100 EURO.
A 1,5 GLX has previously been sold here in Denmark, but is not sold as new for the time being - rumour has it, that it will return to the stores soon, though.

BUT!

Any Swift-model sold in Denmark comes with ABS-brakes, and A/C can be installed in any model. That means that you can by a 1,3 or 1,5 3-door model and choose to get it with A/C.
So in Denmark, you don't necesarily have to buy a GLX-model to get A/C and ABS.

Thank you for your answers !
Maybe you can explain me what's the real difference between GLX and GLA ?
Because I prefer 3 doors, the car is more cute :p

Phewww....

The main differences is in standard equipment. A "danish" GL-X comes with A/C, Keyless Go-system, 15" alloy wheels and head fog lights, besides the normal standard equipment for the GL-A.

But, since some of the Swift models are produced in Hungary and some models in Japan, there are minor differences in interior design and equipment. But as i recall, both the GL-A and the GL-X are produced in Hungary, so i don't think that matters in your case.

Buy the car, which turns out to meet your personal preferences. I don't think buying the car in DK would be of any advantage to you what so ever due to the outragious taxations put on the car industry by the Danish Government. However, due to the fact that I am not familure with the French Taxation de Votures smilie, I could be wrong.

Au revoir,

Let me explain you how it works.
In France the cars are taxed at 19.6 %. In danemark it is 180 % which is really a pitty ...
The good point for me is that I would buy the car in Danemark without the taxes. Then I go back to France and I pay the french taxes.
In Danemark the car prices are really low (I mean excluding taxes). There is so much taxes that suzuki must low their prices.
For example a swift GLA 5d 1.3 cost 12 200 euros in France (with taxes).
In Danemarl it costs +/- 8000 euros (without taxes) and 18 900 euros (with taxes)
The price for me will be : 8000 € + 19.6 % = 9568 €. Much lower than 12 200 €

And in the same time I would visit Copenhague ! hehe

Best regards !

Yea, the taxes here makes you wonder if you shouldn't just move across the border into germany and still work in Denmark. Cheap cars, cheap booze and a good paycheck smilie
